This year, along with TradeChile, Canada Pork International is welcoming local importers across Latin America to an opportunity to meet with producers, exporters and promoters of the Canadian pork industry at events held in Medellin, Santiago and Montevideo. The day-only seminars aim to facilitate the development of import and export relationships between representatives from both countries.
Canadian pork industry has an outstanding international reputation with export markets accounting for over 50% of the Canadian pork production and currently exporting to over 100 countries, contributing to approximately 21% of total world pork exports. Canada is favored with adequate grain production allowing for more selective, controlled feeding and with reasonable feed costs. Throughout an extensive history in the production of pork, Canadian producers have been able to utilize two key strategic variables, people and Canada´s natural bounty, to consistently deliver a quality product to the global market.
All seminars will open with an informative presentation by Mr. César Urias, Commercial Director of Canada Pork International, who will outline the characteristics of Canadian pork as well as discuss the facilities for importation to Latin America. Shortly after the presentation delegates will have the opportunity to engage in a Roundtable setting with key representatives of Canadian pork producers and exporters. In doing so, locals have the opportunity to be able to form strategic alliances with exporting companies visiting from Canada.
A list of these companies can be found here:
The day will finally conclude with a reception where local importers can take an opportunity to try a range of Canadian pork products on offer and further familiarize themselves with Canadian pork products.
The seminars will be hosted across the following dates and locations:
- Thursday 17 September, The Dann Carlton Hotel, Medellin, Colombia
- Tuesday 22 September, Hotel W Santiago, Santiago, Chile
- Thursday 24 September, The Sheraton Montevideo Hotel, Montevideo, Uruguay
We look forward to facilitating this opportunity in the coming weeks.
This trade mission is organized by TradeChile.
